WTA worked here: 2016

This comfortable, easy to follow trail winds through intermittent old growth, occasional remnants of the past, and alongside a sometimes babbling and other times a crashing creek. You will follow the original Snoqualmie Pass Wagon Road, and it is possible to connect with the trail to Franklin Falls for a scenic and delightful 2-mile loop.

From the trailhead, climb up a wide trailbed. This route has been cared for by WTA volunteers; specifically in 2016, when we spent a large portion of the summer building bridges and other trail structures along its length, making the way safer for visitors. Keep an eye out for the trail and use caution hiking here—it crosses the Denny Creek Road several times.

As you walk, keep your eyes out for old wagon ruts and remnants can still be seen at several points along the trail. After a mile of climbing, you'll meet up with the Franklin Falls Trail. Stay right, and you'll be rewarded with a view of the waterfall in just a quarter of a mile.

After you're finished marveling at the falls, turn left onto the Franklin Falls Trail and follow the South Fork Snoqualmie River. This section is remarkable, guiding you right alongside the river, with plenty of opportunities for gorgeous photos, as well as the chance to simply sit quietly and enjoy the noise of the river.

You'll end your loop at the Franklin Falls trail, where it's just a short walk back to the main parking area.
