We’re in training for a bigger hike this summer and this was a great spot to get some elevation gain close to home.

Highlights: lush spring growth along the trail, a few nice views and wildflowers blooming, including a couple of trillium here and there.

Kids: Hiked with a toddler in a backpack (excellent training weight) but only saw a few other kids on trail. (It’s a lovely trail, especially after the first mile, but not really a lot of super interesting features for kids.)

People/parking/dogs: Parking lot was packed at 11 am, and we saw lots of people along the way but it never felt crowded. Lots of dogs (all leashed and very well behaved) and nearly everyone was masked or found space to step well off the trail.

There were two toilets at the trailheads, and both had TP and hand sanitizer.

We expected some afternoon rain but got sun instead!
