This trail is getting a little brushy and Teo and one half miles in the bridge has long been out. Otherwise it was great. Lot of wildflowers and the River was really high and fun to watch.

There were many families out, but it wasn’t crowded. At 1.5 miles there is a great rock in the shade to eat lunch on.

The highlight of the trip for us was a huge Black Cottonwood that beavers have done a number on trying to fell it. Pictures say more than words.

Hard to say who's more tenacious - the beaver or the tree.
"Third time's the charm" didn't seem to work here.

Out of curiosity -- approximately how wide is Trout Creek? Trying to weigh my options for getting into the western Pasayten from this trailhead.

Thanks so much!

ngie, not sure if your question is still relevant, but I'll attempt an answer. The crossing is a pain but possible this time of year, but the trail past Trout Creek is the worst I've ever been on. See our Azurite trip report (http://www.nwhikers.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8027315) for a description of the awfulness, and of the creek crossing. I suppose it's possible someone's cleared it in the past couple years, but given the condition and lack of reports, I doubt that will ever be done.
