Intermittent snow - not hard to cross

Ethan, Brenda, Jonah, & I took a walk up Waterworks Canyon today.  We walked up the canyon to within a quarter mile or so of the trail that climbs from the canyon to the saddle between Pt 3582 and the main bulk of Mt Cleman and found some rocks to lean against for lunch with a view down the canyon.  It was very foggy when we started out and all the vegetation was covered with frost, but after 1/2 hr or so it began clearing off & we were in the sun for the rest of the morning.  There was about 1/4 inch of snow on the trail where the canyon narrows and makes the big "S" turn, but we did fine without traction.  When they were done with lunch, Ethan, Brenda, & Jonah headed up towards the saddle while I relaxed in the sun and watched the fog slowly creep up the canyon.  By the time we started back it was almost up to our lunch spot.  Where the fog was thin enough the canyon was quite dramatic, but by the time we were half way down it was so thick we couldn't see much of the canyon walls.  We saw 3 other parties of hikers and no wildlife.
