Day hike
This is a short, steep(!) hill climb with great flowers in the spring. It's close to Winthrop, so if you're looking to see some spring flowers and gain the 360 degree views of the Methow Valley from the top of the butte, this is a good option. A small parking lot on Gun Ranch Rd (whose entrance is currently unmarked) has a toliet and requires a Washington State Discover Pass. The trail starts back up on the opposite side of Gun Ranch Rd and climbs all the way up the obvious hill. Take the first right fork to stay on the walking trail - ignore the double track road that climbs up to the left. Trailhead location: 48.507082, -120.219654
