Snowfields to cross - could be difficult
This my first time on Dirty Harry’s Peak Trail and it was an absolute treat! A perfect conditioner with far fewer crowds than the usual conditioners closer to Seattle (Tiger, Mt. Si, etc). We arrived at the parking lot at 11am and there were plenty of parking spots left. The trail is incredibly well maintained and clearly marked. There is a map at the trailhead that clearly shows the trails and climbs in the area. There is another map after the road crossing that shows the climbs in the area in more detail. The trail was wet, with some thick muddy parts, but all manageable. Around 3400 ft the snow started on the trail and increased as we ascended. By 4000ft, the snow was 8-10 inches deep but there was a nice compact path along the snow. A bit slippery at times but no major falls! We were only wearing hiking boots and it was manageable by taking it nice and slow. Unfortunately we had to turn around at 4100ft because of our dogs but we plan on coming back this summer!
