My fun from Lime Kiln Trail!
Photo taken along the spray park trail! Besides fighting off the mosquitos and flies, was a wonderful stroll thru the woods!

I don't know how many days in July it rained up at Melakwa but we found one! No mosquitos today. :)

I couldn't tell if we were going to end up on that ridge on the other side of the lake at the beginning of the hike, but we sure did. It was a great view from both sides!
One of the many abandoned houses in Monte Cristo. A beautiful backdrop of the mountains to go along with this piece of history.

Uphill calf burner well worth the hike, Marmot pass at sunset is unbelievable. Take your backpacking gear and camp out on the pass or take the extra steps up the ridge towards Buckhorn Mountain, a great camping area can be found with views extending south.
last minute decision to push on past Snow Lake paid off - Gem Lake Glory!
On the trail to the Grove of the Patriarchs
It was blind hike in the fog. I was once close to Snow Lake but didn't notice any of its beauty. On my way back from Gem Lake, the fog mysteriously disappeared and the view struck me so suddenly that I couldn't even hold my camera.

It is difficult to understand the amount of beauty at Schmitz until you've explored it yourself! The varieties of both flora and fauna continue to amaze. This is our nearest neighborhood park, as we live in WS. What a super bonus!
